The Sarova Salt Lick lodge lies on the outskirts of
Tsavo west national park in the Taita hills Salt
lick sanctuary. The sanctuary where the Salt Lick
Lodge stands was once a sisal plantation, it is now
a successful animal sanctuary with abundant game.
Both local and international tourists frequent the
lodge due to its close proximity to the Indian Ocean
and Kenya's coastal town and tourism hub - Mombasa.
The Sarova Salt Lick Lodge is a built atop stilts
overlooking a waterhole that is frequently visited
by wild animals to quench their thirst. It is linked
by suspended walkways under which elephants and
other animals stride majestically. Its name is taken
from its setting - a natural salt lick which was a
congregating place for the neighborhood's
salt-hungry residents - the wild animals.
Salt Lick Lodge is a charming deluxe hotel with high
standards of comfort and service. Guest rooms have
views of the waterholes and game sanctuary, and are
equipped with modern facilities.

It has 96 guest rooms, and has recently expanded its
bar, restaurant and public areas.
The lodge offers the Bura Restaurant with superb
cuisine. Camel rides and local regional
entertainment can be arranged by us.
More than 50 mammals, including elephants, buffalos,
lions and cheetahs are found in this area together
with almost 300 species of birds.
A specially constructed secure ground-level bunker
with steel bars is designed to assist in
photographing the animals.
